General Purposes Licensing Casework Sub-Committee

Purpose of committee

This Sub-Committee considers individual cases concerning applicants for or holders of taxi, hackney carriage, private hire drivers or vehicle or operator’s licences brought to the sub-committee by officers. These include considering applications, withdrawals of licences, or suspensions. It considers individual cases concerning applicants for or holders of street trading licences or sex establishment licences brought by officers.

Number of Councillors: 3 (from the General Purposes Licensing Committee)

Quorum: A meeting of this Sub-Committee may proceed with 2 Councillors, if the applicant(s) agree.

Frequency: The Sub Committee meets approximately 6 times a year with 3 Councillors attending on each occasion. Councillors attend on a rota basis and will typically attend 2-4 times a year.
