The Head of Community Services has submitted a report which details the progress made by the Taxi Licensing Function for the period September – December 2015.

Recommendations:  That the General Purposes Licensing Committee resolves to:

a)            note the contents of the report; and

b)            make any comments and recommendations regarding the future work of the Taxi Licensing Function.

The Head of Community Services submitted a report which detailed the Taxi Licensing Activity for the period September – December 2015.

The Licensing Manager presented the report, highlighting the main areas of activity. He confirmed that the level of enforcement was broadly in line with previous years.  The Committee thanked the Licensing Manager and the taxi licensing officers for their hard work in improving standards within the city.

The Committee resolved to NOTE the report.

The Head of Community Services has submitted a report which seeks agreement of the licence fees for 2016/17 where the Council has discretion over the level of fee charged:  Commercial Events, Hackney Carriage and Private Hire, Road Closure Orders, Scrap Metal Dealers, Sex Establishments and Street Parties.

Recommendation(s): That the General Purposes Licensing Committee resolves to:

a.            agree the licence fees and charges for 2016/17 as set out in the Appendix; and

b.            recommend to Council the agreed licence fees and charges for 2016/17.

The Head of Community Services has submitted a report which details the proposed licence fees for 2016/17 where the Council has discretion over the level of fee charged, covering Commercial Events, Hackney Carriage and Private Hire, Road Closure Orders, Scrap Metal Dealers and Sex Establishments.

The Licensing Manager presented the report.  He said that it was proposed that for the 2016/17 Council year that no variation to the current fees and charges be made in order to provide financial stability to licence holders in the present economic climate.

The Committee resolved to:

1.            AGREE the licence fees and charges for 2016/17 as set out in the Appendix; and

2.            RECOMMEND COUNCIL to resolve to adopt the licence fees and charges for 2016/17.

The Head of Planning and Regulatory Services has submitted a report which details the proposed miscellaneous licence fees for 2016/17 where the Council has discretion over the level of fee charged.

The Business Regulation Team Manager presented the report.  She said that an inflationary increase to the fees and charges was proposed to ensure the full cost recovery of the services provided with the exception of Street Cafes Permits.   There was no proposed change to this fee in order to promote street cafes and to encourage uptake.

The Committee resolved to:

1.    AGREE the licence fees and charges for 2016/17 as set out in  Appendix A; and

2.    RECOMMEND COUNCIL to adopt the agreed licence fees and charges for 2016/7.
