Review of the Additional HMO Licensing Scheme – Approval to Consult
Oxford City Council has operated an Additional
Licensing Scheme for Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) since
2011. The current designation is due to expire in June 2026.
Under the Housing Act 2004, the Council has a statutory duty to
review the scheme and to conduct a formal consultation before any
renewal.
The purpose of this report is to present the findings of the review
and to seek approval to proceed with a statutory 10-week public
consultation on the proposed renewal of the scheme.
