To approve a City strategy to support and encourage participation in sport and physical activity, through a robust fit for purpose framework that promotes accessible affordable and sustainable playing pitch and outdoor space provision to meet both the current and future local needs.

Consultation process

Key stakeholders such as Sport England, National Governing Bodies of Sport, Oxford University and planning department colleagues made up the steering group with regular meetings. There was also engagement with local sports clubs, schools, grounds management association and providers through a survey.
