At its meeting on 13 December 2023, Cabinet considered the following reports from Scrutiny and made responses to the recommendations:

-       Authority Monitoring Report and Infrastructure Funding Statement 2022/23

-       Equalities Update

-       LGA Corporate Peer Review – Council Action Plan

-       Review of Glyphosate Use by Oxford Direct Services to Manage Weeds on Behalf of Oxford City Council

-       City of Sanctuary Accreditation

-       Integrated Performance Report Q2 2023/24

-       Treasury Management Mid-Year Report

Since the Scrutiny Committee’s previous meeting on 04 December 2023, the following Panels have met:

-       Housing and Homelessness Panel (05 December 2023)

-       Finance and Performance Panel (06 December 2023)

-       Companies Scrutiny Panel (Shareholder and Joint Venture Group, 07 December 2023)

The Committee is asked to:

1.    Note Cabinet’s responses to its recommendations

2.    Note any updates from Panel meetings

The Chair presented the report on recommendations.

The Committee noted that on 13 December 2023, Cabinet considered recommendations related to seven reports, responses to which were set out in the agenda pack:

The Scrutiny Officer advised that the Housing and Homelessness Panel met on 05 December 2023 and considered a number of reports including Building Safety and Compliance within HRA Stock, Housing Performance Monitoring, Housing Complaint Handling Performance Q1 & Q2 2023-24 and the City of Sanctuary Accreditation.  The Panel made one recommendation to Cabinet on the City of Sanctuary Accreditation.

The Finance and Performance Panel had met on 06 December 2023 and considered a large number of reports and prepared for the Budget Review process. The Panel made two recommendations on the Integrated Performance Q2 2023/24 Report, and one recommendation on the Treasury Management Mid-Year Report.

The Committee noted the updates from the Panel meetings.
