To make an appointment to the post of Interim Executive Director of Communities.

Papers will be circulated separately to Committee members. Interviews will be held separately.

Exempt for reasons set out above: The public interest in maintaining the exemption is so that discussions and deliberations of the Committee about candidates are not compromised and so that the confidentiality of information provided by candidates is protected.

This meeting was convened to formally decide on the appointment of a candidate to the post of Interim Executive Director of Communities.

The Appointments Committee noted that Councillors Brown, Tidball (substituting for Turner), Gant and Kennedy, along with the Chief Executive, had interviewed a number of candidates for the post on 18 December 2019 and discussed the outcome of these interviews.

The Committee agreed to select

Nadeem Murtuja

as their preferred candidate for the post of Interim Director of Communities, for a period of time to be confirmed;

and delegated the making of the offer of the post and agreement of all terms and conditions including salary to the Chief Executive,

subject to confirmation within a time set by the Head of Business Improvement that no member of the Cabinet has any objection to the appointment, or the Appointments Committee is satisfied that any objection is not material or is not well-founded (paras 7.8 and 20.6 of the Constitution refer).
