Minutes from 5 October 2015

 

Recommendation: That the minutes of the meeting held on 5 October 2015 be APPROVED as a true and accurate record.

The Sub-Committee resolved to APPROVE the minutes of the meeting held on 5 October 2015 as a true and accurate record.

34.

Exempt Matters

If the Sub-Committee wishes to exclude the press and the public from the meeting during consideration of any aspects of the preceding or following agenda items it will be necessary for the Sub-Committee to pass a resolution in accordance with the provisions of Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 specifying the grounds on which their presence could involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in specific paragraphs of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act if and so long, as in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee resolved that under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972  the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the remaining items of business on the grounds that their presence would involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as described in Paragraph 3 of  Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Recommendation: That the confidential minutes of the meeting held on 5 October 2015 be APPROVED as a true and accurate record.

The Sub-Committee resolved to APPROVE the confidential minutes of the meeting held on 5 October 2015 as a true and accurate record.

HCPH: Suitability to continue to drive Private Hire Vehicles in light of information disclosed at the Chief Police Officer(s) discretion.

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee resolved to DEFER this case to the next meeting as the licence holder was not present.

HCPH: Suitability to continue to drive Private Hire Vehicles in light of a recent conviction

Minutes:

The Head of Community Services submitted a report detailing a case to determine the licence holder’s suitability to continue to drive Private Hire vehicles in the light of a recent criminal conviction.  

 

The Sub-Committee resolved to REVOKE the licence holder’s Private Hire Driver Licence in light of a recent conviction.

HCPH: Application to drive Private Hire Vehicles

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee resolved to DEFER this case to the next meeting as the licence holder was not present.

HCPH: Suitability to continue to drive Private Hire Vehicles in light of recent criminal charges

Minutes:

The Head of Community Services submitted a report detailing a case to determine the licence holder’s suitability to continue to drive Private Hire vehicles in the light of recent criminal charges.  

 

The Sub-Committee resolved to RENEW the application to renew the Private Hire Driver licence pending the outcome of the trial: on acquittal the decision of the Sub-Committee to renew the license would stand; on conviction for either of the charges the Sub-Committee resolved to delegate to licensing officers the authority to immediately suspend the license and refer the case back to the Sub-Committee for determination.

HCPH: Suitability to continue to drive Private Hire Vehicles in light of recent criminal convictions.

Minutes:

The Head of Community Services submitted a report detailing a case to determine the licence holder’s suitability to continue to drive Private Hire vehicles in the light of recent criminal convictions.  

 

The Sub-Committee resolved to REFUSE the application to renew the Private Hire Driver Licence.
