Cabinet, Wednesday 10 November 2021, item 62 East Oxford Community Centre and Housing Development resolution 6:

Delegate to the Executive Director Development in consultation with the Executive Director Communities and People, the S151 officer, Head of Law and Governance, Cabinet Members for Finance and Asset Management, Affordable Housing, Housing Security and Homelessness the authority to award and enter into the construction contract for the new build Housing scheme subject to the full tender submission being within the agreed budget and a legally compliant procurement process being followed.

To award a contract for the construction of the housing projects at Princes and Collins Street following a compliant procurement exercise.  The contract price is within the HRA budget, as described in the report to Cabinet of 10 November 2021.

To deliver 26 new homes at Princes and Collins Street in accordance with the Cabinet resolution.  Please refer to the Cabinet report ‘East Oxford Community Centre and Housing’ dated 10 November 2021.

The option not to award a build contract was rejected as this would not allow the delivery of much needed housing units at a sustainable location within the city.  It would also not be in accordance with the Cabinet decision of 10 November 2021.

Decision taken by Tom Bridgman, Executive Director (Development) in consultation with Stephen Gabriel, Executive Director (Communities and People); Nigel Kennedy, Head of Financial Services / S151 Officer; Susan Sale, Head of Law and Governance; Councillor Ed Turner, Deputy Leader (Statutory) – Finance and Asset Management; and Councillor Linda Smith, Cabinet Member for Housing.
