To fly the St George’s Flag to mark the England Women’s National Football Team winning the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Championship.

Decision:

To fly the St George’s Flag from the mast on Carfax Tower from 01 August 2022 until the morning of 08 August 2022 to mark the England Women’s National Football Team, the Lionesses, winning the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Championship.

Reasons for the decision:

To mark the success of the England Women’s National Football Team, the Lionesses, in winning the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Championship.

Alternative options considered:

Not to fly the St George’s Flag. This option was rejected due to the importance of marking the success of the England Women’s National Football Team as a symbol of pride and celebration.
