Purpose:

Purchase of the land for the purpose of providing more affordable housing, through new build or acquisition activity. The JCT Design & Build contract to be tendered with the officer decision on award of contract to be brought forward at a later date.

Decision:

To authorise the purchase by way of transfer the completed property extended and refurbished home at 32 Union Street, resulting from the Oxford City Housing Development Ltd Extensions Programme.

Authority was granted for the HRA to purchase the unit for £465,000 in total.

Reasons for the decision:

The purchase will support the delivery of affordable housing.

Alternative options considered:

Not to transfer the properties.  This option was rejected as it would represent a missed opportunity to deliver affordable housing and support the delivery of the OCHL business plan.
