Purpose:
The new Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and
Policing Act 2014 introduces a range of new tools and powers. The
PSPO is designed to stop individuals or groups committing
anti-social behaviour in a public space.
Decision:
To authorise the Order in accordance with delegated authority.
The Order prevents persons under the age of 21 years from entering the tower without reasonable excuse.
Reasons for the decision:
Residents of Forester Tower are suffering from ASB in the communal areas caused by non-resident youths.
Alternative options considered:
All other legislative approaches have been tried including acceptable behaviour contracts and letters to offenders and parents of offenders.
Interaction of positive futures with youth was also developed.
