Replacement of Fence between Mill Stream Go Outdoors, Oxford.

Decision Maker: Head of Corporate Property

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

The new 1.35m high close board fence will allow the Environment agency to access Mill stream from the access road off old Abingdon road.

Decision:

The decision was made to approve the expenditure of £15,455.31 to Supply and Install 120m x 1.8m wide x 1.35m high wooden close board fence panels complete with concrete slotted posts and gravel board and to take down and dispose of the existing fencing.

Reasons for the decision:

The existing 1.8m high close board fence is preventing the Environment agency from dredging Mill Stream and this is contributing to flooding issues during periods of bad weather.

Alternative options considered:

There is restricted access to Mill Stream and machinery cannot get close enough to dredge the stream without lowering the fence.

Signed off by senior officers:

Jane Winfield, Head of Service - Corporate Property, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance & Asset Management.
