Decision details
De-silt Hogacre Ditch, Grandpont recreation ground, Oxford.
Decision Maker: Head of Corporate Property
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
Hogacre ditch will be cleared and the watercourse will be able to run unobstructed.
Decision:
The decision was made to approve the expenditure of £16,248.70 to De-silt up to 300mm from the channel of Hogacre ditch.
Reasons for the decision:
Hogacre ditch is in need of dredging, during the bad weather, the ditch overflows and surface water overwhelms the main surface water sewers. This is contributing to localised flooding.
Alternative options considered:
Another option would be to monitor the watercourse however, it has already been established that it is heavily silted and needs dredging.
Signed off by senior officers:
Jane Winfield, Head of Service - Corporate Property, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance & Asset Management.
