Decision Maker: Executive Director (Development)

Is Key decision?: No

To provide an improved income stream to the Council and to facilitate investment in the asset to improve and diversify the city centre offer.
To approve the detailed heads of terms and proceed to enter into the transaction described in the report to Cabinet on 20 January 2021.
Reasons for the decision:
To give effect to the change to the lease arrangements approved by Cabinet.
Alternative options considered:
To not proceed with the transaction described in the Cabinet report – this would not support the regeneration of a key asset within the city centre which has benefits in terms of supporting economic growth and contributing to the recovery of the city following the impact of the current pandemic.
Signed off by senior officers:
Tom Bridgman, Executive Director – Development
Decision taken in consultation with Cllr Ed Turner, Cabinet Member for Finance and Asset Management, Nigel Kennedy, Head of Financial Services and Susan Sale, Head of Law and Governance.
