Purpose:
Securing appropriate Council representation on the Board of Barton LLP.
Decision:
To remove Caroline Green (Assistant Chief Executive) from the Board of Barton LLP with effect from 28 February 2021.
To appointCarolyn Ploszynski (Head of Regeneration & Economy) and Paul Leo (Director of Housing) as Members of the Board of Barton LLP with effect from 01 March 2021.
Reasons for the decision:
Caroline Green, Assistant Chief Executive is currently a Member of the Board of Barton LLP. In anticipation of taking up the role of Chief Executive she will soon resign her Membership. It is necessary to appoint at least one person to replace her and appointing two is regarded as preferable to provide resilience around the ability to secure a quorum at meetings of the LLP.
Stephen Clarke (Head of Housing) is currently a Board Member of Barton LLP and will remain so. The Council will increase their membership on the Board from two to three Members which remains in compliance with the Membership agreement.
Alternative options considered:
Not to appoint a replacement for Caroline Green which would not be in the Council’s interests.
