Purpose:
Cabinet, at its meeting on 12 February 2020, considered a report on
the
Budget 2020-21 and Medium Term Financial Plan 2021-22 to 2023-24
.
The following recommendation was approved, to:
Delegate to the Section 151 Officer in consultation with the
Cabinet Member for Finance and Assets the decision to determine
whether it is financially advantageous for the Council to enter
into a Business Rates Distribution Agreement as referred to in
paragraphs 13- 15 of the report.
Decision:
Pooled Oxfordshire authorities would have to
lose a substantial percentage of their net business rates deficit
before joining the group would cease to be advantageous to Oxford
City Council.
The decision was to join the Distribution Group for 2020/21 based
on the balance of risks. The decision was made by the Section 151
Officer in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Finance and
Assets.
