From 2017: Ward Councillors for Headington area (Barton & Sandhills, Churchill, Headington, Headington Hill & Northway, Lye Valley, Quarry & Risinghurst) – all appointed by organisation. No OCC appointments.
Headington
Action is a voluntary organisation with charitable status
(Charity No. 1099173) whose sole aim is to benefit the community of
Headington.
Its full name is the Headington Committee for Development
Action.
Its members are representatives of
Headington voluntary groups, commercial
organisations, and local authorities.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the HCDA are to:
a) promote the
benefit of the inhabitants of Headington and the surrounding neighbourhood by
associating together the inhabitants and the local authorities,
voluntary, commercial and other organisations in a common effort to
promote the area, civic pride, community projects, environmental
improvements, well-being, to advance education and to reduce social
deprivation.
b) provide
facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and
leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions
of life for the said inhabitants;
c) promote such
other charitable purposes as may from time to time be
determined.
HCDA shall be non-party in politics and
non-sectarian in religion.
Council Representatives should
attend Committee meetings (6 pa)provideinformation and advice on local matters and Council matters to the Committee.support the Committee’s activities and eventsrepresent HA interests as appropriate
Additional assistance
HA support the development of the
Headington Neighbourhood Plan and it
would be helpful if our elected representatives take an active
interest in the Plan by joining the Neighbourhood Forum.
Council Representatives are appointed
annually for 1 year
