Florence Park Community Association
Florence Park Community Centre is managed by The Florence Park Community Association (charity number 1159506). The association serves the area of Florence Park estate and neighbourhood.
On 24 March 2017, The Florence Park Community Association became an incorporated charity (registered charity number 1159506). The association’s charitable objectives are to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Florence Park Estate by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life. The association manages the Florence Park Community Centre on Cornwallis Road to further these objectives.
1. To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of "Florence Park Estate" and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race or of political, religious or other opinions and inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
2. To establish or to secure the establishment of a Community Centre and to maintain and manage, or to co-operate with any local statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a Centre for the activities promoted by the Association and its constituent bodies in the furtherance of the above objects.
The Council appoints 2 representatives to the Management Committee which meets every second Monday in the month during the evening at 8.00 p.m.
The Association expects a level of support when required, and any news of possible financial help that may become available.
