Agnes Smith Advice Centre
Established in 1972, the Agnes Smith Advice Centre (also known as Blackbird Leys Neighbourhood Support Scheme Ltd) has been providing free advice and representation to people in the local community for more than 40 years. The Centre has developed and expanded over the years, from a largely voluntary and informal organisation into an independent advice centre that is professional and effective in its work but firmly rooted in the local community.
The Council appoints 1 representative annually who attends meetings of the Management Committee.
The representative is expected to:
- To attend meetings whenever possible, and to support local activities and fundraising;
- To keep the charity up to date with Council’s activities, consultations and processes.
