29/05/2019 - Award of Asbestos Surveying Contract ref: 1800 Recommendations Approved
The Council had a one year contract with an Asbestos surveying company which finished in May 2019. This contract covered surveying of domestic communal spaces, void surveys and pre-construction surveys. A new contract was required to enable the Council to undertake the required asbestos surveys to both domestic and commercial properties.
Cabinet delegated authority to the Assistant Chief Executive on 29 May 2019 to award an asbestos surveying contract to the successful contractor after consultation with the Monitoring Officer.
An OJEU tender process was conducted. Suppliers were assessed in terms of quality and cost. ACE Consulting scored the highest score and so were awarded the contract.

Gardens it was decided to spend £50,000 to refurbish the
gardens . This will improve facilities, provide an open, flexible,
green space and provide a meeting place and focal point for Cowley
Road Carnival and other community events and activities whilst also
tackling antisocial behaviour.
