Purpose:
The City Executive Board, at its meeting on 17
April 2018,l agreed to delegate authority to the Head of Community
Services, in consultation with the Heads of Finance and Law and
Governance, to appoint and award any contracts necessary for the
successful delivery of the Museum of Oxford project.
Decision:
Award of contracts were made to the following
suppliers for delivery of the Museum of Oxford re-development
project with a total value of £340,000.
May 2018: Purcell (Architect and Principle Designer), Faithful and
Gould (Quantity Surveyor), Belvedere Solutions LLP (Project
Management), Simon Leach Design (Exhibition Designer and Lighting
Designer)
September 2018: Crown Fine Art (Specialist Museum Removal)
All contracts were awarded using the council’s procurement
rules and regulations.
Alternative options considered:
A competitive process was undertaken except
where it was not possible to do so.
Crown Fine Art is a ‘designated supplier’ by
Oxfordshire County Council who own the Museum Exhibits and
therefore appointed under an exemption.
Faithful and Gould and Belvedere Solutions were appointed under
exemptions, for continuity from previous stages of the
project.
Exemptions were approved via the Head of Finance, Procurement and
Community Services.
