Purpose:

The City Executive Board, at its meeting on 17 April 2018,l agreed to delegate authority to the Head of Community Services, in consultation with the Heads of Finance and Law and Governance, to appoint and award any contracts necessary for the successful delivery of the Museum of Oxford project.

Decision:

Award of contracts were made to the following suppliers for delivery of the Museum of Oxford re-development project with a total value of £340,000.
May 2018: Purcell (Architect and Principle Designer), Faithful and Gould (Quantity Surveyor), Belvedere Solutions LLP (Project Management), Simon Leach Design (Exhibition Designer and Lighting Designer)
September 2018: Crown Fine Art (Specialist Museum Removal)
All contracts were awarded using the council’s procurement rules and regulations.

Alternative options considered:

A competitive process was undertaken except where it was not possible to do so.
Crown Fine Art is a ‘designated supplier’ by Oxfordshire County Council who own the Museum Exhibits and therefore appointed under an exemption.
Faithful and Gould and Belvedere Solutions were appointed under exemptions, for continuity from previous stages of the project.
Exemptions were approved via the Head of Finance, Procurement and Community Services.
