Old Marston Charities Trust
The charity, which dates from the 1600s and is managed by Parish Council and local trustees, provides small grants to local individuals and families resident in the area of the Ancient Parish of Marston who are facing financial hardship. The money is derived from rent on land in the parish and distributed by the trustees. This is done by making grants by way of vouchers for goods or money or providing or paying for items which will relieve the need.
The Council nominates 2 representatives who are appointed as trustees and are asked to attend two meetings per year, one in late November and the other usually around six months from the previous meeting to agree the distribution of approximately 100 gift vouchers.
