Save our secure off-lead area in Florence Park

We the undersigned petition the council to Allow the crazy golf area (which is temporarily being used as an off-lead area for dogs that cannot be off-lead in the main park) to be permanently used as an off-lead area for dogs that cannot be off-lead in the main park.

We (Local dog owners) have been allowed to use the broken down crazy golf area in Florence Park for our gorgeous dogs who are not able to be off lead in the main park; for a variety of reasons including their troubled background prior to rescue, anxiety, re-activeness, high prey-drive, learning recall with distractions and puppy socialisation. This is only temporary at the moment and we desperately want to make it permanent. As a group we have made safe the derelict crazy golf area to make it accessible and safe for our dogs and for people. Secure areas are common across the country for these very reasons, however the nearest secure area to Florence Park that can be hired by the hour is a 40 minute drive away.
There are lots of dogs in East Oxford who would benefit from this facility. All dogs deserve to have an off-lead run and the chance to socialise regardless of their background. No additional funding from the local council would be required as the area is already there and being used. I have two rescue dogs (see picture) who can only be off-lead in a secure area. This greatly improves their quality of life allowing them to run and play with each other and other dogs on a daily basis.
Please sign this petition to allow dogs in East Oxford who use this facility to be able to continue with the quality of life they currently have. We are gathering signatures for this petition to present to Oxford Council at the next meeting on April 24th 2017.
