This Sub-Committee hears applications relating to taxi and private hire driver, vehicle and operator licenses. Generally, these are dealt with by the Licensing Team on behalf of the Head of Community Services, but in some cases, the officer is unable to grant a license, perhaps because the applicant has a criminal record, or for other reasons such as an accrual of enforcement actions or a single matter relating to public safety. In that case, the application is put before the Sub Committee, which hears from both the licensing officers and the applicant before reaching a decision.

The sub-committee meets when needed (generally every 6 weeks).
