Minutes:

The Acting Head of Law and Governance submitted a report which established 4 sub-committees for the 2017-18 Council Year; to deal with the casework flowing from the Committee’s own responsibilities.

The Committee’s legal representative presented the report. He explained the proposed changes to the sub-committee structure, merging the duties and requirements of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire and Licensing Registration Sub-Committees will reduce the administration of running two sub-committees. Having more Committee members involved in the sub-committee work would build resilience in the licensing function. Option 3 is the preferred option as it creates 4 sub-committees and involves 8 members.
